Jodi LaBelle's Lord of the Land is a beautiful 12-page children's book that tells the story of God's creation of our world. Simply but colorfully illustrated, the book is accompanied by a CD that offers three features: a narrative of the book for children to read along with, Jodi's Gospel-tinged song Lord of the Land, and the musical soundtrack for the song without vocals. Narrated and sung by Steven Hill, whose voice has graced the performances of the Gaither Vocal Band.
Lord of the Land author Jodi LaBelle is becoming known as a writer of children's books, but her past successes in the music business have made her a legend in certain circles on Nashville's Music Row. An accomplished vocalist, Jodi has worked with a number of major-label country singers and other celebrity acts, including Earl Thomas Conley, Jo-el Sonnier, Gerald McRaney, Mary Ann Mobley, and Gary Collins. She was named Best Songwriter and Best Female Vocalist by the Alabama Country Music Association for two consecutive years, and also performed for our troops during Operation Desert Storm.
As a songwriter and composer, Jodi has written nearly 200 country, pop, Christian, and bluegrass songs. She was a subject of a BBC songwriters documentary (along with such legendary songwriters as Kris Kristofferson and the late Harlan Howard), and her list of songwriting collaborators in Nashville includes writers who have penned tunes for artists as diverse as Garth Brooks, Joe Diffie, and Alice Cooper.
